St. Luke’s and the MNA came together Wednesday for the 18th negotiating session. Staffing is the major priority of both parties. The morning was spent discussing the unintended negative impacts of parts of the MNA proposals on staffing. St. Luke’s is concerned these proposals may not help staffing and, in some cases, may put nurses and patients at risk.

St. Luke’s also responded to the MNA’s most recent package proposal. The proposal included an increase in our wage offering, to 10.75% over three years. The MNA team spent several hours reviewing our counters and expressed their need for more time to respond.

Our next negotiation is set for Thursday, October 13.
